Because we need reminding we can be free
There are more ways to be imprisoned than being behind bars. Maybe the scale is chained to your leg or fear has you nearly frozen. Does activity have you in captivity? Or…
is your heart full of hurt, resentment, unforgiveness and despair?
There is healing for you today. Jesus died to comfort our broken hearts and set us free from our captivity (Isaiah 61:1 NLT)
May I pray for you?
Dear Jesus, we feel so bound. Please set us free from these chains that bind us. We desperately need You to heal us. If tears were a healing salve, we would be well because we have cried buckets of them. Our heads know that You set us free when we asked You to be our God and we became Your child . When we asked You to forgive our sins and Your blood washed us clean. Help our hearts “feel” free and help us live in freedom. Don’t let us go back to the captivity You released us from. Empower us to live out in real life what has happened in our souls. We love You Jesus. We need You every hour, every day.
In the mighty name of Jesus we ask all these things. Not because of anything we have done, but because of what You did for us on the cross. Amen
A beautiful and powerful prayer.
Thank you Barbie. You always encourage me.
Amen, Carmen! I know I’ve seen this post, and thought I already left a comment, but maybe my computer glitched up!
I love this scripture. Isn’t it amazing how we can just pick the chains right back up and wrap them all around ourselves all over again. He came to set us free!
I know Betsy! Why is it so easy to return to bondage? I think we long for what we know, even if it’s bad, because it’s comfortable. We fear the unknown.
